At a young age, before Geno turned three, his mother started having concerns about his language and attention development. It was at this point that the Cenci family found their way to Dr. Blanche Podhajski, founder and president of the Stern Center, who diagnosed Geno’s learning challenges and recommended personalized, educational supports for him.
“The Stern Center provided me the confidence and the techniques to be successful throughout my educational career. I was the first in my family to earn an MBA in Business Management,” said Geno. “With all the experience and knowledge at the Stern Center, they have impacted many lives and outcomes of the students who attend.”
Geno has worked hard his entire life and it clearly shows. “Geno has always been smart and creative. His motivation and persistence as a young scholar are now realized through his extraordinary success in the business world. He is an inspiration,” said Dr. Podhajski.
And, his determination is remarkable. In fact he was a finalist last year for this same award, but did not receive it. Instead of giving up, however, he used this as motivation to succeed this year.
“You've got to push harder when you are that close to the brass ring. The lesson here is to never give up. It feels great to be number one!” said Geno.
That is wonderful advice to offer a multitude of learners who struggle with learning issues. Geno shows everyone that anything is possible if you work hard enough.
The Stern Center is proud to have Geno as a part of our extended family and applaud his well deserved achievement!
